Recapping 2021
We are so grateful for all of the support you and others have given Neighbors' House over the past year. We hope that 2021 brought you many moments of joy and peace, and that you felt the nearness of God. As we reflect on this past year, we invite you to take a glimpse at what has been happening with Neighbors' House.
Some highlights of 2021:
Volunteers and students braved snow and cold in Winter 2020/2021 to continue meeting outside when possible for After School Kids Clubs, and enjoyed warmer weather in the spring.
We had another record year of giving during Give DeKalb County Day in May - thank you!
Summer Reading Vacation was held at four locations serving 40 students. "Dream It, Build It" was our theme, and students had fun reading stories and building with LEGOs.
The Board promoted former Assistant, Anna, to Director role and hired a long-time NH partner, Kevie Davey, as the Assistant.
We launched a new After School Kids Club in partnership with Christ Community Church in DeKalb at their Outreach Center. Families are already getting connected to the church and building strong relationships with a committed group of volunteers.
After School Kids Club continued at Mason Manor and Gideon Court, our longest running sites, with new and returning families participating.
We are grateful for our ongoing partnerships with First Baptist Church of Sycamore, Crossview Church, and Christ Community Church.
The NH Giving Thanks 5K brought out 477 participants - another record number!
This past week, Christmas gifts were delivered to all After School Kids Club students. Their excitement reminded us of the joy of giving!
As you can see, we have much to celebrate and praise God for in 2021! Thanks to the generous giving of our supporters, we were able to grow our programs this year and continue impacting students. Join us in praying that our students would come to know the love of Jesus better through our programs.
