2022 in Review
Can you believe it's time to recap another year? We are eager to celebrate God's provision and goodness with all of you. Our Board is constantly inspired by your generous giving, whether you've given time as a volunteer, offered prayers, made financial and material donations, and more!
What God Did In 2022:
All After School Kids Clubs are back to normal operations after two years off/on programming during COVID. Praise God!
Gideon Court, Mason Manor, and the Christ Community Outreach Center Kids Clubs have seen many new and familiar faces this school year. We have been blessed by the students' funny and unique personalities week after week!
Volunteers for both Kids Club and Summer Reading Vacation included long-time veterans of our programs and new volunteers as well. These programs are impossible without these individuals!
NH Founder, Kyle White, generously blessed us with A Night of Stories fundraiser in March, which raised almost $2,000 and was a delight to participate in. Thank you, Kyle!
Give DeKalb County Day raised $10,000+, which exceeded our goal. It's always an inspiring day.
In May, NH was awarded $13,000 from the DeKalb/Sycamore chapter of 100+ Women Who Give. A $5,000 matching grant was awarded through the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. This was an amazing gift to our organization.
Summer Reading Vacation was held at 6 locations serving 80+ students. We revamped our 2014 Farming & Our Community curriculum, in partnership with the DeKalb County Farm Bureau. A new site began at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Students explored corn, soybeans, and more!
This fall, a NH volunteer generously put our organization forth for a grant from the American Endowment Foundation, which was awarded for $10,000. The NH Giving Thanks 5K had 10 sponsors, 485 participants, 60 financial donors, 23 business donations, and raised a record $20,000+!
In November, NH received a Promise Grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation to revamp our After School Kids Club board game collection. The kids were very excited about the new options!
NH was awarded a $5,000 Meijer Team Gives grant in December. Thank you, Meijer!
Prior to Christmas, 10 NH families were able to receive free Chromebooks through a partnership with the Kishwaukee Family YMCA and Comcast's Project UP. Thank you, Comcast!
Crossview Church families generously shopped for and wrapped over 80 gifts of books and games, crafts, and activities for each of our Kids Club students. The students were all smiles while receiving these special presents on the last club meeting of the semester.
This year, it seemed like every month brought new, unexpected blessings to our organization and our families. We give all glory to God!
